Q1 – What is the difference between handmade and machine-made carpets?

Handmade carpets are individually knotted by artisans and often have slight variations in pattern and colour. They usually have more character and can last a very long time when cared for properly.

Machine-made carpets are produced in factories, so they are more consistent, generally more affordable and easier to replace if you like to change designs more often.

Q2 – What do 500, 700, 1000 and 1200 reeds mean?

For machine-made carpets, reeds refer to the density of the weaving. A higher number, such as 1000 or 1200 reeds, usually means finer detail and a fuller feel underfoot. Lower reeds like 500 or 700 are more budget-friendly and practical for high-traffic or rental spaces.

Yes. Many of the carpets listed here are also laid out in our Tampines showroom. You can shortlist designs online, then visit us to see the colours, thickness and size in real life before deciding.
